Bill Barksdale was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma in 1947. He has lived in the community all his life except during his college years at the University of Oklahoma.
Upon graduation from the University of Oklahoma Law School in 1973, Bill Barksdale returned home to join his father's practice. He is an active member of the community having served as President of the Chamber of Commerce and President of Okmulgee's National Historic Main Street Restoration Program. He serves as the Municipal Judge of the City of Okmulgee in addition to practicing law. He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association. He has earned the highest professional rating of AV by Martindale-Hubbell which signifies his outstanding reputation within the legal community for his expertise in the profession. He is admitted to practice in Oklahoma and U.S. District Court; Northern, Western and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma; U.S.Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit; U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Barksdale is a retired Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Mr. Barksdale is an avid tennis player having played college tennis at the University of Oklahoma. He currently competes throughout the State of Oklahoma in the senior division of the Missouri Valley Tennis Association. He has been nationally ranked for many years in this association.
